Dysprosium will be held at the Park Inn, Heathrow. The hotel is a new one for us, but they are keen to make Eastercon everything it can be. It forms the third of the holy trinity of larger hotels on the Heathrow ring road. It will feel familiar to fans as it is just up the road from our old favourite, its cousin, the Radisson Edwardian Blu. Regular attenders at Novacon know the Park Inn chain well and we are confident that this Heathrow destination will give us a great alternative to our regular haunt.
For details of how to get there, see our location page.
- Free Wi-fi
- Swimming pool and gym
- Hotel restaurant/carvery + Costa Coffee in the lounge.
- Shuttle bus to the airport (where you can also pick up the Underground)
Rooms at the Park Inn
Our allocation of rooms at the Park Inn is now fully booked, but you can find information about the rooms here. Note that there may still be rooms available at the Park Inn for the convention weekend, but they are at the hotel’s standard rate. We have tried to negotiate for blocks of overflow rooms close by, but haven’t been able to obtain as good a deal as you can get yourself by booking direct. We’ve posted a list of nearby hotels to help you.
Food and drink
There will be a restaurant (£13-25), a lounge bar (£5-14), and convention food (£2-£16) in the hotel. Vegetarian and vegan choices will be available; please let us know if you have particular dietary requirements.
The Park Inn will run the bar, but they have given us the go-ahead to get our choice of Real Ale and Cider in, so the search for a brewery to work with has begun!
Parking at the Park Inn will be charged at £5 per day during the convention (Friday to Monday); make sure you register at the reception desk to get this special convention rate.
In addition, we have negotiated overflow parking in the NCP car park to the rear of the hotel, also at £5 per day – over 80% off the standard rate! To get this special rate, members must have their ticket validated by the attendant when they leave, and not at the machine.
We have tried to negotiate for a block of rooms at an overflow hotel at a reasonable rate, but we haven’t been able to – we’re sorry! But we’ve compiled a list of other hotels nearby, and we hope that will help.
